2: Proposal of Minutes from last meeting 12/05/16:

Charlotte Levy proposed these minutes Kitty Chalmers seconded the minutes.

3: Police Scotland Report: Those present were disappointed that the drug use in Calton seems to be more visible again! Open air drinking seems to be on increase too but is it just more visible because of the good weather. There is no deterrent for this bar a £40 fine.

Monteith Row has had several incidents again involving addicts. The cctv at Monteith Row/Morris Place has been removed. Concerns raised regarding this as obviously huge issues in this area so why move camera?

Phone Box at health centre Abercromby Street is horrendous with addicts hanging about their constantly, when BT were asked to remove previously said still a need for a public phone box – but in this day & age is there? Needles in area Police have been sent to collect the which is not a police remit this is LES- GCC.

Increased prostitution at Bain st/Gallowgate esp. in evenings. Stevenson Street has huge drug dealing/addict problems.

CCC re-iterated again that Police Scotland should be promoting themselves with their success stories – What they are doing well.

CCC will complain to MP about cuts to policing/Budgets etc.

It was agreed that before end of year a CCC meeting will be exclusively be just Police Scotland and we will invite Inspector Campbell

9: Update on what is happening locally: Monteith Hotel site will now be 1 & 2 bed retirement housing flats scheduled start is for spring 2017. Boathouse project public appeal to raise money a membership costs £70 a year. Spirit of Calton Awards still available. There will be 500 new houses on site of old Dalmarnock power station site.

10: Other Community Council Matters: It was agreed a register should be kept and if a member does not show to 3 meetings in a row without any apologies they will be asked if they are still wishing to remain a member. DQ will try and see if Mary Lamb has a copy of our constitution. Any future guests who come to a CCC meeting can only speak at the end of the meeting and must put questions through the chair.

There will be 4 councillors for Calton Ward from 2017.
